Sporting Monte-Carlo ready to host FIM General Assembly & FIM Awards

This coming weekend will see the largest gathering of the year of the motorcycling family. The FIM General Assembly and FIM Awards take place on Saturday 30th November and Sunday 1st December respectively at the Sporting Monte-Carlo venue. As has now become the tradition, the annual season closing event again promises to be the most glamourous occasion in the FIM international calendar.

Ahead of the glittering main ceremony on Sunday evening, delegates from the one hundred and eleven national federations will first gather for Saturday’s FIM General Assembly with a packed programme planned where the representatives will be asked to vote on a number of important and different matters.

After a day of intense business, the motorcycling family will then turn their attentions to the FIM Awards which again will provide a unique moment to recognise and reward the exploits and achievements of all our heroes and heroines and officially crown these 2019 FIM World Champions from a wide range of different disciplines.
Speaking ahead of this weekend FIM President Jorge Viegas said: « It is always moving to see our champions standing shoulder-to-shoulder on stage with the individuals and organisations that protect and promote motorcycling activity around the World, and who nurture the sporting heroes of the future! »

« At a time when the FIM is focusing on sustainability and creating championships to develop new talent and future World Champions, it seems the perfect moment to be hosting the FIM Awards again inside this inspiring city. »

« It will be with immense pride that we welcome our many FIM Champions both individual and team – some new and some returning – who through their incredible skill and bravery continue to increase audiences both at the events and via the amazing TV coverage the various disciplines enjoy. »

« Alongside our sporting heroes and heroines and their successes, the FIM will be equally proud to recognise the many Road Safety, Sustainability, Women in Motorcycling and Future Stars projects and initiatives that have taken place in 2019 and celebrating those that won this year’s FIM Awards. »

« Finally, with everyone from the FIM family all gathered together in one place, it will be an ideal occasion to also applaud and reward those individuals who contribute so much, but who are usually less visible. »
