During the Circuit Paul Ricard 1000 km meeting of the Blancpain GT Series the cars of the Blancpain Ultracar GT1 Sports Club brought plenty of entertainment for the interested fans. From the hypermodern McLaren P1 GTR to the historic Ferrari 550 GT1, all participating cars showed a piece of automotive history.

Under bright sunshine and in front of thousands of interested fans the cars of the Blancpain Ultracar GT1 Sports Club made their first appearance on Saturday afternoon, for the first of six sessions on the Circuit Paul Ricard.

The Maserati MC 12, one of the icons of the 25-year history of SRO Motorsports Group, proved to be one of the more popular cars on track, especially when it had former Total 24 Hours of Spa winner Andrea Piccini at the wheel.

Together with the howling noise of the V12-engines in the Ferrari 575 GTC and the Ferrari 550 GT1 and the growl of the McLaren P1 GTR – among others – the fans had plenty to look at and listen to.

Stephane Ratel, founder and CEO of the SRO Motorsports Group, had a taste of history when he took the wheel of the Blancpain-liveried Lamborghini Murciélago R-SV. Ratel lived up to the occasion and not only enjoyed his laps of the circuit in the South of France, but also the presence of some of the most beautiful machines from the GT1 era.
