– Next season’s calendar features 10 rounds in eight countries between April and October
– Imola to stage first event since 2022 with three-hour Endurance Cup race in May
– Sprint Cup finale moves to Budapest as Hungaroring rejoins the schedule in October
The 2027 GT World Challenge powered by AWS season will feature eight events that are unchanged from this year, as well as two returning venues with exceptional motorsport history.
The schedule will be split between five Endurance Cup rounds and five from the Sprint Cup, running from the middle of April through to late October. It will launch at Circuit Paul Ricard, which stages the opener on 16-18 April with a six-hour Saturday evening race.
The Sprint Cup kicks off two weeks later at Brands Hatch (1–2 May), continuing a relationship that stretches back to 2014. Next up is Imola (21–23 May), which makes its third appearance on the calendar and its first since 2022. Subject to final agreement, the Emilia-Romagna venue will run an Endurance event and takes over from Monza, which has track improvement works planned during its usual slot.
The biggest event of the season remains unchanged with the 24 Hours of Spa staging its 79th edition on 23–27 June. Once the dust has settled, the campaign continues with a pair of Sprint Cup races at Misano – which will host the series for a 13th consecutive year on 16–18 July – and then Magny-Cours (30 July–1 August).
The Nürburgring is another GT World Challenge mainstay, hosting the Endurance Cup on 27–29 August, followed by a Sprint Cup meeting at Zandvoort on 17–19 September. The penultimate event, and the closing round of the 2027 Sprint Cup, will see GT World Challenge make a welcome return to the Hungaroring. The Budapest track previously staged four events between 2016 and 2019 and has recently undergone significant redevelopment. The finale will be staged at Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya, which hosts an Endurance event on 22–24 October.
While full support race line-ups are yet to be revealed, some details are already known. The GT4 European Series will join at six rounds – including the 24 Hours of Spa – while the GT2 European Series powered by Pirelli will run all of its five events alongside GT World Challenge.
The GT3 Revival Series will be present for three of its five events, including a maiden appearance on the 24 Hours of Spa support line-up, while the Mustang Challenge Spa Invitational will also form part of the on-track entertainment in the Belgian Ardennes. The dates for the pre-season Prologue at Circuit Paul Ricard and the 24 Hours of Spa Prologue will be confirmed at a later date.
With next year’s calendar in place, attention can return to the 78th CrowdStrike 24 Hours of Spa. The action gets underway at 16:30 on Saturday 27 June, with a field of 69 cars ready to contest the biggest GT race in the world.
