Dakar: Roma finishes 12th place on Stage 11!

– Nani Roma recovered from a bad starting position and ended near the Top 10.

Borgward Rally Team driver Nani Roma (301) successfully ended the 379-kilometre stage of day 11. The Spaniard finished with his Borgward BX7 EVO on the 12th position.

Nani Roma had a difficult task ahead because he started as the last car today. As a result, he had to cope with a lot of traffic and bad roads. However, Borgward’s lead driver did extremely well in recovering and showed great pace during the stage. He battled until the end and never gave up to get a good result.

After the stage Nani Roma said: « We started way behind today and we had many problems with traffic and with the road. Trucks and cars started before us and they left a lot of dust and sand. But, we still had a chance to get close to the Top 10 positions. That makes us very happy if we consider our starting position today. »

Nani Roma is not very pleased about how he was not able to show the real capabilities of the Borgward BX7 EVO during this Dakar. The two-time champion believes that the Borgward BX7 EVO did not have a chance to show its true potential due to external factors such as multiple tyre punctures and navigation issues.

About the Borgward BX7 EVO Nani Roma said: « Overall we are very happy with the car. Who knows what would have happened if we hadn’t had so many problems with tyres and navigation. But this is rally raid and these things happen. This car is strong and has potential to fight at the top. »
