– Ricardo Porém praised the Borgward BX7 EVO again in a good finish.

Nani Roma (301) and Ricardo Porém (332), Borgward Rally Team drivers, made it successfully through Stage 2 of the Dakar. Both Borgward BX7 EVO drivers gained positions in the in 367-kilometre stage.

Nani Roma in his Borgward BX7 EVO finished in 12th place on this stage, improving his performance over yesterday. Just like in the previous stage, the 2-time champion had some navigation issues that cost some time. However, the Spanish legend is now in the 13º position in the general rankings.

After the stage Nani Roma said: « It was a hard stage again, very nice but not easy to drive. We lost some time in the middle of the stage with finding a waypoint, but most drivers have these problems. Our position is pretty good, but we still take it day by day. We found some improvements over yesterday which were really helping us. Apart from the small issues the Borgward BX7 EVO was very good to drive. »

Ricardo Porém also improved over day one and ended in the 18º place. He is now 17th in the general standings. Despite having to drive behind the dust left by the trucks, Porém showed great speed in the Borgward BX7 EVO and that allowed him to finish the stage in a good way just like yesterday.

Ricardo Porém had the following to say: « It was a hard day. The whole day we were in the dust of the trucks. Furthermore we had two punctures. But the Borgward BX7 EVO was working very well today. Navigation was very difficult again, but my navigator did a great job. We were happy with the car and very happy to be in the top 20. We are looking forward to tomorrow! »
