Nani Roma and Ricardo Porém, drivers of the Borgward Rally Team for the 2020 Dakar, already have starting numbers for the next edition of the rally. The numbers were revealed at the official press conference of the 2020 Dakar, which will be held in Saudi Arabia next January after 11 years taking place in South America.
Spaniard Nani Roma will start in 2020 Dakar with the number 301, just behind Qatari Nasser Al-Attiyah. Nani Roma finished 2nd place in the general standings of the last Dakar, ran entirely in Peru. Being part of the Borgward Rally Team means a great challenge for the Catalan and his co-driver Dani Oliveras on an unpublished route where he hopes to be a protagonist in each of the stages of the rally.
« We are about to begin a new challenge that means a lot to us. The Borgward Rally Team is doing everything necessary to be able to be a protagonist during all stages of the Dakar 2020. We are working very hard on the configuration of the Borgward BX7 EVO to arrive in January in the best conditions, » said Nani Roma after the conference in Paris.
On the other hand, Ricardo Porém will have the number 332 in his first performance in the Dakar in the car category. In the last edition of the Dakar Rally, the Portuguese ended in 11th place in a SxS. Now behind Borgward BX7 EVO’s wheel, the driver will seek to fight for a good place with the most renowned participants in the raid rally world.
