An Incredible Double Header in London to close the season with a very consistent and regular Stéphane Sarrazin, P5 on Sunday race.

For the last event of the FIA Formula-e season 2 in Battersea Park, the most challenging track for mechanics due to a very bumpy surface, the Venturi team had an incredible final two races. Like the series.

Saturday was difficult because of the frequent rains leading to a chaotic qualifying session and race for most teams.

Venturi’s Mike Conway ended Saturday’s race, the first of the weekend, in position 9 and Stéphane Sarrazin in position 10. Not bad results considering the weather conditions and all the accidents on the track.

On Sunday the race dynamic was much better with the sun shining most of the day offering more ideal racing conditions. The race was very tense because of the battle for the title between Di Grassi (ABT) and Buemi (eDams Renault) involved in an accident in the 1st lap.

Stéphane Sarrazin position 12 and Mike Conway position 15 on the grid finished P5 and P 13 in an amazing race won by Nicolas Prost (eDamsRenault) like Saturday. Overtaking, penalties, and decommissioning gave rhythm to a truly breathless race.

Sébastien Buemi won the drivers championship title and Renault eDams took the team title.

Stéphane Sarrazin’s final ranking is 6th – the same as Venturi’s team ranking. With a podium in Long Beach (2nd) and points scored each race he has shown great skill.

« We have been at the forefront all season fighting with the big teams. Venturi Grand Prix had a very difficult first season. We have shown in season 2 that we are able to learn fast and make real progress. We have been consistent, that’s very important. Now we are going to work hard for season 3. »

FIA Formula-e Season 3 will begin in October 2016 in Hong-Kong and will  conclude in New-York City in July 2017.
