WTCC Race of Morocco’s exciting new era continues with confirmation of AFRIQUIA as the Event Presenting Partner of the country’s round of the FIA World Touring Car Championship.

Morocco’s leading fuel station operator, part of the Akwa Group, will benefit from significant trackside branding, inclusion of its name in the official event title, plus numerous promotional opportunities – including live national and global television coverage – when the event takes place in Marrakech from 6-8 May.

Africa’s biggest motorsport event will be held at the all-new Circuit Moulay El Hassan, which has been transformed to incorporate a permanent track and a heavily revised layout under architect Hermann Tilke’s supervision as part of an exciting programme to grow motorsport in Morocco and provide a year-long facility for testing and safer-driving training. The WTCC will inaugurate the circuit at the start of its visit next month.

François Ribeiro, Head of Eurosport Events, the WTCC promoter said: “We are very pleased to announce AFRIQUIA as the Event Presenting Partner of FIA WTCC Race of Morocco. For seven years, WTCC Race of Morocco has set standards and delivered plenty of entertainment both on and off the track. Last year’s race recorded the highest audience impact of all the WTCC events with more than 56 million viewers following the action live from Morocco. With local hero Mehdi Bennani now established as one of the leading WTCC drivers, we expect that interest from fans and the media for this year’s race will be even greater. I am sure AFRIQUIA will maximise its association with the WTCC.
