On Wednesday March 9th and Thursday March 10th more than 50 cars are expected to attend the Blancpain GT Series and Blancpain GT Sports Club Official Test Days at Circuit Paul Ricard. Some of the world’s best GT drivers and teams will be making their final preparations for the epic season ahead.
After a long winter break the first meaningful act of the 2016 Blancpain GT Series takes place in the South of France, which welcomes a host of new machinery, teams and drivers for the two-day test.
No less than 12 manufacturers will be represented by the teams that are competing in the Blancpain GT Series and the Blancpain GT Sports Club, the SRO series for Bronze drivers. Among the cars are plenty of machines making their first official appearance in a Blancpain GT Series event, such as the BMW M6 GT3, Mercedes AMG GT3 or Porsche 911 GT3-R.
The action starts on Wednesday morning at 09:00 local time with a four-hour session before lunch. The afternoon session then runs between 14:00 and 17:00. Thursday’s timetable follows the same format.
On Wednesday evening at 18:00, Stephane Ratel, Founder and CEO of SRO Motorsports Group, will unveil the starting grids for this year’s Blancpain GT Series – Sprint and Endurance Cups – and Blancpain GT Sports Club during an exclusive 2016 presentation held at the circuit’s Pit Building Hall. The presentation will be broadcast live via the Blancpain GT Series website.
