Mattias Ekstrom and Emil Bergkvist (Yamaha YXZ1000R-Yamaha Powered by X-Raid Team) are again credited with 9th time in the special at 54’49 minutes behind today’s winner Seth Quintero. The other Yamaha YXZ1000R of the 100% female crew: Camelia Liparoti and Annette Fischer (Yamaha YXZ1000R-Yamaha Powered by X-Raid Team) finished 11th at 1:12 am.
Mattias Esktröm: Very eventful day for us. Early on in the stage we got lost and that cost us quite a lot of time. We kept a good pace after that, despite suffering a puncture around midway. In the last section of the stage we had a technical problem and were able to use only rear wheel drive.
Camelia Liparoti: « Today was supposed to be our day, but we got totally lost. On top of that, we had a flat tyre. That cost us a lot of time. Otherwise, the stage was very nice and we were able to make up some time in the dunes. »
