ABT Cupra : News from the Formula E paddock in Misano

ABT CUPRA narrowly misses out on more points in Saturday’s race
ABT CUPRA missed out on scoring more points in Saturday’s Formula E race in Misano, Italy: After 28 laps, Lucas di Grassi and Nico Müller finished in eleventh and twelfth place, just missing the top ten. In a race dominated by energy management and rising battery temperatures, both drivers battled in the midfield throughout the race, but were unable to make up many positions in the closing stages. Müller’s fourth-place qualifying result in the morning was the team’s best of the season so far. The second race at Misano will start on Sunday at 3 p.m.

Tim Tramnitz impresses in rookie test on Friday
Tim Tramnitz once again left a strong impression in his second Formula E appearance. The 19-year-old German completed a half-hour free practice session in Lucas di Grassi’s car on Friday. As well as setting the fourth-fastest time in the rookie field, Tramnitz also provided valuable feedback to the two regular drivers. “It was great fun to work with the team again and to sit in the Formula E car,” said Tramnitz, who is competing in Formula 3 this season as a Red Bull Junior in the Formula 1 supporting programme. On Monday after the race in Berlin (13 May) Tramnitz will complete a full day of testing for ABT CUPRA.

Nico Müller and Lucas di Grassi as a double team on the padel court
A welcome change for Nico Müller and Lucas di Grassi between the many meetings and sessions: on Friday evening the teammates proved that they are also a strong team on the padel court. Partner CUPRA set up the court in the Formula E paddock at Misano, creating a real hotspot for drivers, fans and the Formula E family. The courts will be open to fans throughout the weekend.

Positive feedback after setting the course for ABT’s Formula E future
