Desafio Ruta 40 XTREM+ : Umeda- Dominella CST Polaris Xtremplus wins the T4 FIA W2RC

– With Gaspari-Torlaschi ABC Tools Polaris Xtremeplus 2nd overall

The Desafío Ruta 40 YPF, the penultimate round of the season, came to an end in Salta yesterday with the last stage Belen – Salta: 258 km of timed section and 305 km of liaison.

All in all it was it was a very good day for the Xtremeplus team with #400 Japanese Shinsuke Umeda and Maurizio Dominella – CST Polaris Xtremeplus who won the T4 FIA W2RC World Rally-RaidChampionship, and #401 Enrico Gaspari- Ricardo Torlaschi – ABC Tools Polaris Xtremeplus who finished second overall.

« We really enjoyed the fifth and last stage. The landscape was amazing and we had fun. We are happy of the result that arrived after a difficult fourth day when we rolled in the dune » said Umeda who won the T4 FIA W2RC.

It was a great satisfaction for the Italian Enrico Gaspari and Argentinian Torlaschi. « We started well and we were leading the stage. Unfortunately we had problem with the fuel pump when we were just 10 kms to the finish. Anyway we made it and we are really happy of the second position overall », said Enrico Gaspari, « I am overwhelmed by the beauty of this country. I bring home incredible landscape and the warmth of the people. It was an amazing race. »

The next round of the FIA W2RC Championship is Rally du Maroc 12-18 October.
