Tacita® on the 2020 Dakar to present the 2021-2023 Tacita® full electric Dakar eco-racing programme

Faithful to its spirit of pioneering new routes, new countries, deeply linking mobility with the highest spirit of adventure and technological experimentation, the 2020 Dakar Rally that will explore a new continent this January, will be remembered also for an absolute world premiere.

With the toughest rally in the world landing in South Arabia, the 30th country visited by the legendary Dakar, new routes will be explored: it will be more than a geographical discovery, for the 557 competitors of the rally.

The Dakar Rally opens up to the mobility of the future: Tacita® has taken the challenge offered by A.S.O., the organizers of the epic Dakar Rally, willing to promote the racing electric bikes. Since January 2nd 2020, in the Jeddah Dakar Village, at the “New Energy” Podium, the first “full-electric motorcycle eco-racing programme” to ride the 2021, 2022 and 2023 Dakar Rallies, will be officially presented.

In the meantime, at the end of this epic event, the Tacita® T-Race Rally production bike will join the full field of competitors during the final stage and will open the ‘Qiddiyah Grand Prix’ – on January 17th. It will be a great opportunity to see the bike that will be available for the customers’ orders, since February 2020, in full action.

Pierpaolo Rigo, Tacita co-founder: « A.S.O. is encouraging the participation of hybrid and full electric vehicles on the Dakar and we took the challenge. We are working on the T-Race Rally PRO that will be able to tackle the toughest rally in the world, to cover over 7900 km in two weeks, with stages up to 546 kms. We are delighted to have such a great opportunity. We were in 2012 the first electric motorcycle ever to race an African rally at the “Merzouga Rally”, and after these years of continuous development we are ready for the Dakar. We offer our customers of the T-Race and T-Cruise the same technological experience. We invite all fellows for an espresso at our mobile solar-powered trailer, the T-Station, at the Jeddah Dakar Village, on the rest day, and at the final ‘Qiddiyah Grand Prix’. »

David Castera , Dakar race Director : « We are happy about the Rally Raid future, and we know that Alternative Energies will be part of it. The TACITA project and its full electric rally bike is a main development axis. And we are glad to welcome and promote this bike and this team at the start of our first Saudian Dakar in January 2020. »
