Alberto Cola (#44 CAAL Racing Chevrolet SS) grabbed the win in the first edition of the Trofeo Angelo Caffi at the end of two nail-biting runs in front of the enthusiast fans that crowded the grandstands of the Area 48 Arena at the Bologna Motor Show.
The Monza-native and the other finalist Gianmarco Ercoli (#9 Double-T by Nocentini Ford Mustang) took one round each and the CAAL Racing driver took the win thanks to a .11 seconds advantage. A vast number of fans had and will have the chance to discover the NWES cars and meet the drivers at the NASCAR Whelen Euro Series booth in Pavilion 36.
« It is amazing! I can’t believe it! I raced here three times but I never won and to do it with this incredible car is really special. This Chevrolet has a lot of torque, you can slide the rear in every corner! I love it! » commented Cola, who made his NASCAR debut in Bologna at the wheel of a CAAL Racing Chevrolet SS. The Italian team also won at the Motor Show in 2014. « I would really like to race the 2017 NASCAR Whelen Euro Series season from the first race in Valencia in April.
