Every year, Sardegna Rally Race brings tons of new ideas and is the most popular rally for Pros and Amateurs alike. This year’s Rally starts from Budoni, a magnificent seaside town 30 km south of Olbia, home of the port and airport, facilitating the arrival of the rally’s caravan. The town has been chosen to give the rally a sumptuous departure by setting dizzying.

In addition of the technical and administrative checks of the Rally, in fact, the first stage has been traced with the ‘ring formula’, with start and finish in the same town of Budoni. That’s how to get started. Bike Village will offer a mini-vacation on the beaches of the « Pearl of the East » to all its competitors, careers, families and even to the visitors.

New Veteran Category, for Over-45s. This new category offers the chance to become World Champion after racing in just three World Championship rallies: Qatar, SARDEGNA RALLY RACE and Morocco, this is an unparalleled opportunity on a tight budget.

Enduro Rally Cup. This category will have its own separate ranking, but racing the same Rally as the World Championship, but with an autonomy of 90 km, a national license and their Federation’s OK.

Welcome SSVs. This year, in cooperation with our NPO friends, we have created a trophy over two Rallies: the Sardegna Rally Race and the OiLibya of Morocco. The prize for the winner of the Trophy will be Euro 5,000. The vehicles will race in the Rally Light category, with minimum preparation (regulations to be provided in the next few days).

SRR16 will also inaugurate the first edition of  “SRR Grand Turismo Off Road”. It is a 100% Touristic formula, a package that includes, at a cost of Euro 1,500.00, a KTM 690 ENDURO rental, five nights in the hotel and a Bike Village Guide that will help you to discover Sardinia’s most beautiful sites on the footsteps of the Rally. Pay attention, for this first edition of the “SRR Tour Rally” the available bikes are only six.

Sardegna Rally Race is based on the excellence of one of the key aspects of the discipline, navigation. That’s why Bike Village explores the most beautiful sights of the island, and chooses every year new, sensational trails. That is how the Masters of Navigation, but not only, can make the difference. The history of the Sardegna Rally Race confirms this unequaled record. Some examples? The last « graduated » from the University of Bike Village, Mathias Walkner, June winner of the Sardinia Rally Race and October World Champion. Ignacio Casale, first Chilean to win the Dakar, in Sardinia to sharpen his weapons and return to being the King of the Quads. Alessandro Botturi, a winner of the SRR, who now « forces » his fellow Team Rodrigues, Van Beveren, De Soultrat, to come to Sardinia in order to cultivate the instinct of navigation. Or again, to stay on, Jacopo Cerutti, last year projected from the World Rally of Bike Village directly to the Dakar Argentina Bolivia.

This year, therefore, Bike Village has decided to set up a competition between the participants in the Rally, and to reward the best one with the Best Navigator Trophy and a certificate stating the prestigious title. It is thus an extra opportunity that does not privilege only the « star » of the discipline, but also those Riders less « cutting edge. » It will be the skill and precision in respect of navigation and the road book that will make the difference.
