British motorsport brand Ginetta continues to build on its position as one of motorsports most proven and successful platforms for developing young and aspiring racers, with the introduction on the 2021 racing calendar, of the GT Pro Class.

Driver development is at the very core of Ginetta’s DNA and this new series allows the best young racers to bridge the gap to the Supercup category and introduce them to a more potent car over nine-weekends across some of the UK’s best racing circuits, joining the very same grid as the Supercup series, so all entrants have the chance to race on the same circuit with more powerful cars.

Competing in an uprated version of Ginetta’s G55 GTA car, drivers will go wheel-to-wheel in a high-performance car that offers unrivalled driving experience owing to its perfectly balanced 50/50 weight distribution and 3.7 litre V6 engine producing around 300bhp – the perfect combination for drivers looking to push their cars to the next level. Equipped with paddle shifters, the progressive car allows drivers to get accustomed to some of the changes that they will encounter should they progress to the GT4 Supercup.

Open to drivers aged between 16 and 21, the GT Pro Class aims to bridge the gap between the Ginetta Junior and GT5 Challenge Championships up to the GT4 SuperCup, for drivers with career aspirations in international GT racing. Racing on Michelin road tyres, the category aims to provide the most cost-effective way to race on the BTCC package.

Ginetta’s prize package for the GT Pro series is a further commitment to develop the drivers of the future with the winner of the series rewarded with a Supercup season package including – car hire, entry, fuel and a contribution to running costs, a prize pot totalling in excess of £55,000, with the runner up awarded half price entry into the GT4 Supercup.

Renowned as experts in driver development programmes, Ginetta has played an integral role kickstarting the careers of the likes of racing drivers such as, British F1 Star Lando Norris, W Series champion Jamie Chadwick and BTCC racer Tom Ingram.
