– First race of the 2017 season
– Webb has a 100% podium record in the Dubai 24 Hour race
– Racing a Lamborghini Huracan GT3
– High hopes for his second win
Oli Webb returns to a track where he has never failed to reach the podium when the Dubai Autodrome plays host to the Hankook 24 Hour.
Since its inception in 2006, the event has established itself as the first international endurance race of the new year and kicks off on Friday 13th January at 14:00 local time and finishes Saturday 14th 24 hours later.
Webb took the win in 2015 but that victory may even have been eclipsed in 2016 when a huge fire took hold of Oli’s Black Falcon Mercedes resulting in a car change and starting the race from the back of the field. Fighting back from 100th on the grid to complete a remarkable comeback Oli and his teammates managed to carve through the runners to finish 2nd in an astonishing race.
In 2017, Webb returns to Dubai but this time will be racing a Lamborghini Huracan GT3 in the hope of securing another podium and hopefully the top step.
« I’ve always enjoyed racing at the Autodrome. Dubai is a city I love to visit and its a great way to kick off the year. I’ve always done well in this race and I’m determined to keep up my 100% record of getting on the podium ».
In the lead up to the race, Oli is planning some exciting media activations with amazing new partners so stay tuned to find out more.
