Buggyra Academy has announced a new partnership with CMKarting, designating the Prague-based karting facility as the official Czech training base for Buggyra Academy’s kart racers. The collaboration marks a significant step in the team’s driver development strategy as Buggyra Academy prepares for the opening round of the Czech Kart Open in Vysoké Mýto on April 17-19.
Some of Buggyra Academy’s young talents, racing in the Czech Kart Open, like Filip Nedoma (19, GP category), Nicolas Lacko (12, Easy 100 category), or Matyáš Puršl (18, KZ2 category) have been testing the state-of-the-art track recently. They were impressed by the track’s fast, sharp corners, which challenge drivers to improve their reaction times and develop highly detailed strategic approaches to extract the best possible lap times, all critical skills in competition.
« This partnership with CMKarting gives our Academy drivers invaluable access to a world-class facility at any time, in any weather, right in the center of Prague, » says Jan Koubek, CEO of Buggyra Academy. « Having a dedicated space where our kart racers can train consistently, combine training with their studies, and do so on competitive electric equipment, is exactly the kind of infrastructure that sets our development program apart. CMKarting is a natural choice for the next generation of Buggyra Academy kart drivers. »
Electric-powered karts as powerful as fuel-powered machines
A key element of the training program is CMKarting’s fleet of electric-powered karts. Despite initial expectations, all Academy drivers reported that the electric karts deliver a driving experience remarkably close to the fuel-powered machinery they are accustomed to. This shows the performance of modern electric karting technology and that electric power isn’t a barrier to high-performance, race-ready preparation.
Antonín Zoubek, Director of Operations at CMKarting says: « At CMKarting, we have always believed that the future of motorsport runs through karting. Now, with electric karts that genuinely match the feel and performance of fuel-powered machines, that future is arriving faster than ever. Becoming the official Czech training facility for Buggyra Academy is something we are enormously proud of. Our track is designed to push drivers to their limits, and we are excited to see what Buggyra Academy’s talents will achieve here. »
Aliyyah Koloc mentors her younger brother
Among those already using the new facility is Sebastien Koloc, who has begun regular training sessions at CMKarting. The 6-year-old is mentored by his sister Aliyyah Koloc, an experienced racer within the Buggyra team set-up. The siblings train together regularly, ensuring that Aliyyah’s experience helps her younger brother build the foundations needed to compete in karting.
« At 21, I don’t feel old enough to be a mentor, but it is for sure nice to help my little brother get the tools he needs in competitive karting. We have been training together at CMKarting since the start of this year, and I have seen steady improvement not just in speed but also in how he gains experience little by little. I am sure we will see a lot more of him soon, » says Aliyyah Koloc.
Finding new talent
Looking ahead, Buggyra Academy and CMKarting will also collaborate on a talent identification initiative. Building on CMKarting’s existing training program for young drivers, the two organizations will work together to scout and recruit the most talented junior kart racers, aiming to bring the strongest prospects into the Buggyra Academy pipeline.
