Libya Rally 2016 - Aftermovie

Sardegna Rally Race/Leg 3 : Goncalves in podium reach

Speedbrain rider Paulo Goncalves completed the third stage of the Sardinia Rally focused and without problems.

The Portuguese ended the second part of the marathon stage in fourth place and keeps eyeing the overall podium. Today´s route at this third round of the FIM Cross Country Rally World Championship brought the riders back to Arborea, as the field had to deal with a changing layout. There were fast and slippery sections on gravel, and more twisty segments sometimes leading through forest. The navigation again proved to be a real challenge. Paulo was having a good day altogether. The 34-year-old rode in a controlled manner and, unlike some of his rivals, had no difficulties finding the right way. He enjoyed zero problems with his machine also. Finishing the day in fourth, he is now sitting in sixth overall with two days to go. The front-runners are close to each other and the outcome is still open.

Paulo Goncalves: "That was a nice and varied stage. I am pretty satisfied with how things are unfolding. The bike is well prepared and works flawlessly. I was concentrating on the navigation today and look forward to the final two stages. The goal is to attack in a calculated manner."
