Enduro World Championship, GP of Italy : Bordone Ferrari
Lundi, 02 Juillet 2012 19:04
The World Championship fixes another important stage in Tuscany, after the rounding of the mark in the championship. Castiglion Fiorentino organizes a great GP, fruit of the motorclub's labours that have lasted 2 years.
The result is a spectacular painting of the Enduro. A beautiful path, difficult Special Races of growing intensity, and a terrible heat that made the competition even more hard and unpredictable. A day victory each for Meo and Remes in E1, Salminen and Guerrero in E2, Knight and Nambotin in E3. On saturday the french rider looses the invicibility that had been lasting since the beginning of the World Championship and the winner is the english rider, who gets back in the saddle of a 2 stroke motorcycle. Unlucky series of events for the KTM team, that means the Zero of Meo (on saturday) and Johnny Aubert (on saturday and sunday). Beside this, the Farioli Team reaches the higher positions of the podium in each class on sunday. Cristobal Guerrero, overcoming Pierre Alexandre Renet at the head of the E2, leads the temporary ranking of the Championship three Gps before it ends. The unstoppable Giacomo Redoni in the Youth Cup, scores twice, and there is a new victory of Laia Sanz in the Women's Cup. Spectacular epilogue of the EJ, which finishes with Jonathan Manzi's third success since the beginning of the season, at the end of a race made hard by the terrible hot weather conditions.
Bordone-Ferrari Racing Team Enduro. Once again, "SuperManzi"
Hard week for the Bordone-Ferrari Racing Team. That's all because of the "hurricane" of events which overwhelmed the Bordone-Ferrari Racing Team: the launch of the Mi1, the first Rally Bike with the DNA and the signature of the Bordone-Ferrari Moto Italiana. From monday to thursday Jordi Viladoms had been leading the Sardegna Rally Race, finally won by the catalan who got the first success of his career, after 6 years of trying, on a bike of the Bordone-Ferrari Racing Team that so wins its first Rally. The series continues, In the same Rally Alessandro Botturi makes his debut at the Bike Village Rally and reaches the second place, also gaining the first Italian Ride TT title. On friday evening the Rally world met the Enduro world to great the arrival of the Mi1 in Castiglion Fiorentino, in the land of Fabrizio Meoni, inspirer of the whole project. On saturday and sunday the Enduro World Championship celebrated the new success of Jonathan Manzi, back from Tuscany with the Italian GP's victory. Manzi, who had placed himself second behing Bellino on saturday, stood out because of his impressibe persistence on sunday, when heat and exhaustion stopped the temporary EJ leader who couldn't finish higher than third. Dropping the adversary, Manzi met on his way Kevin Benavides and started with the Argentine rider a spectacular duel which saw the victory of the Bordone-Ferrari Racing Team by less than a second. Thomas Oldrati showed once again his excellent phisical conditions and great determination, improving his 4th position of saturday and completing the E1 podium in Castiglion Fiorentino.
Jonathan Manzi : "Sunday was a great day. Returning to win in Italy was fantastic. I kept a good rhythm all day long and I was able to defend myself in every situation, also the most difficult such as the last Extreme and the last Enduro Test, when I made two little mistakes. The GP of Italy has always been a beautiful thing. For a rider, running in his own land is very exciting. Running and winning with the support of his own followers is even more exciting".
Thomas Oldrati : "I think it's been a very positive GP. Usually I don't do very well during the GP of Italy because of the pressure of a race in my own land. Finally I reached the podium fighting for the second position with Seistola until the very last second. Unfortunately I made a mistake in the last Special Race and I didn't make it. Anyway I am very satisfied, also with my 4th place on saturday. On sunday the race got very difficult because of the great heat but I dare to say that, in the second part of the day, when the other riders started feeling tired, I managed to do even better. That means that, as well as the conviction, the preparation we made was right. It was a very hard race with no rest. It was very warm, and then the Extreme and the Enduro Test were so close, in a sequence of 4 minutes one to each other...yes, very beautiful but really tough" .
Edoardo D'Ambrosio : "It wasn't bad on saturday, considering that in the last race of the World Championship I finished at the 12th place. On sunday I left way better, even if I made a tiny mistake in the first Extreme. During the last Cross Test, before I got hurt, I was behind Bellino just by 9 seconds, and I felt fine because in Linea and Extreme I could have had some good chances. Unfortunately I will never know If I managed to overtake him or not, since I had some problems with my knee and I couldn't continue".
