ABT CUPRA has finished the current season of the Formula E World Championship with a conciliatory result: The team scored points on both days of the final weekend in London and thus continued its consistently positive trend. After the 16 races of the 2024 season, ABT CUPRA with Nico Müller and Lucas di Grassi is the only customer team in the field to finish ahead of the manufacturer team in the final standings. In Sunday’s race, both di Grassi and Muller finished with perfect teamwork in tenth and seventh position. The fans had already witnessed a chaotic and exciting start to the final weekend on Saturday. While all the title decisions were postponed until Sunday, Nico Müller already then scored valuable points with a sixth-place finish.
ABT is a founding member of Formula E and has achieved 47 podiums, 14 wins and two titles in 115 races to date. After a one-season break, the team returned to Formula E at the beginning of 2023 with CUPRA as its partner and has been competing with a Mahindra Racing powertrain ever since. The course for the future has already been set: Starting next season, the team will compete with a powertrain from newly registered manufacturer Lola Cars, which is being developed in partnership with Yamaha Motor Company. After a successful first shakedown, the schedule for the joint project between the British heritage brand and the Japanese technology company includes further tests in the coming weeks.
The teams and drivers will not officially meet again until the joint Formula E tests in Valencia in early November. The newly formed team will announce its drivers for next season in the coming weeks.

Nico Müller, #51 (grid positions P6/P16, race reults P6/P7): « It’s a great feeling to end the season with a success that we can all take with us into the summer break. Perfect teamwork on the track and in the garage was the key to success, especially on Sunday. My sincere thanks go to each and every member of this mega team. Even though I am leaving with sadness, it is great to see so many happy faces. I will never forget the years we have spent together. »
Lucas di Grassi, #11 (grid positions P19/P14, race results P11/P10): « We improved throughout the season and were always competitive in the second half of the season, even if it wasn’t always reflected in the results. We’ve now finished a tough year with a double top ten finish and are ahead of the team that provided us with the powertrain, which is a nice achievement because we knew it was going to be a tough year. Looking at the results, it was the worst season of my career. But that does not go for my pure performance, which has improved all the time. Now we close this difficult chapter and look forward to the challenges of the future. »
