Just five days after the races at Spa-Francorchamps, the Formula Renault 2.0 Northern European Cup teams and drivers enter the paddock at Assen for round five of the championship. The 4.555 kilometre circuit in the Netherlands is famous for its motorcycle racing. The TT Circuit is the only non-Formula 1 venue of the calendar. But with full grandstands, 80.000 spectators, and a unique programme, the event is a long-term favourite for teams and drivers.

The Gamma Racing Day offers a unique mix of motorcycles, superkarts, sports cars, classic cars, and single seaters combined in one meeting. It is a free event for spectators and a unique attraction in Europe. With both races being held at noon, the Formula Renault 2.0 Northern European Cup is in the centre of attention.

By winning both races at Spa-Francorchamps, Lando Norris (Josef Kaufmann Racing) became the new leader in the championship. With four victories to his name, the Briton is the most successful driver so far, in terms of the numbers of wins.
